John is the Principal and founder of Trinity Financial Planning, LLC. He started his financial services career in 1994 as a life insurance agent and later served as a financial planner at a fee-and-commission financial consulting firm specializing in estate planning and business compensation planning. Desiring to offer fee-only advice for a wide range of clientele, he opened Trinity in September 2001 to provide comprehensive, objective consulting to both the wealthy and those building their wealth.
A respected media resource, John has been quoted in numerous local and national publications including Kiplinger's Personal Finance, SmartMoney, BusinessWeek, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, and Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
An active volunteer both personally and professionally, John is a founding member and past Chairman of the national board of ACP (the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners), the premier group fee-only planners in the country. On a more local level John currently sits on the Iowa County Deer Advisory Council and the Wisconsin Service Award Board for volunteer firefighters. He is an active volunteer for Special Olympics Wisconsin, serving as an ambassador for their Reveal a Champion program and on the Games Management Team for the Area 6 track and field meet.
He is past-President and active member of the Sauk Trails Optimist Club in Madison and Past-Chair of the Rosenberry Society Advisory Board for United Way of Dane County. He also coached high school basketball for 16 years in the Madison area.
John lives in Middleton with his wife Alison and young sons Jack and Vince. In his spare time he manages an 80 acre farm, is a motorcycle enthusiast and an avid golfer and hunter.
Pam Hocevar brings a diverse background to Trinity Financial Planning. Along with successfully running her own tax business for nine years, she has also worked in education and training for small and large organizations.
Pam is the primary point of contact for all general client service requests including scheduling. In addition, she is responsible for all aspects regarding our office.
Pam graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in Psychology. She also earned a MBA from the University of Sarasota and is an Enrolled Agent with the IRS, along with being a Registered Paraplanner and graduate from the College of Financial Planning. Pam is also an active board member at Pace Center for Girls/Manatee. She is passionate about helping young woman become successful woman. She is married to Tim; they love travel, camp and back country hiking - really anything that gets them outside and enjoying nature. Pam and Tim split their time between their condos in Middleton, WI and Bradenton, FL---and enjoy both places!
Amber Martin is a seasoned Administrative Assistant with over 20 years in the field. She has extensive experience with all administrative tasks, including scheduling and correspondence. Having held positions in restoration, financial, commercial building, and property management industries, Amber can tailor her skills to meet the needs of various clients.
Starting as a receptionist, Amber went back to school and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Management & Leadership in 2009. She later graduated with her Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership in 2012. Amber obtained both degrees from Judson University located in Elgin, Illinois.
In addition to her duties as Office Manager here at Trinity Financial Planning, she is actively involved in her church as the Ministry Coordinator for their Home Helps program. She also holds leadership positions in their women’s ministry program and participates on the Worship Team.
In her spare time, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband, Roger and their spoiled little fur baby, Ruca. She also likes reading, crafting and hanging out with friends.
